Senators returning to practice Saturday following COVID-19 outbreak

The Ottawa Senators are returning to practice on Saturday following a COVID-19 outbreak that sidelined 10 players and one assistant coach.

In response to the outbreak, the NHL postponed three Senators games: Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils, Thursday against the Nashville Predators and Saturday against the New York Rangers. The Devils game has since been rescheduled to Dec. 6.

Even prior to the postponements, the Senators had cancelled practices while reorganizing the dressing room for more physical distancing while some members of the organization had moved into hotels to protect their families.

Ottawa’s return to the ice puts the club in line to play on Monday against in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche. The team has lost seven of its eight games so far in the month of November and is last in the Atlantic Division with a 4-10-1 record.
